Incredibles 2, in my opinion, was a really good animated movie and I will get into more detail about what I thought about it and what I thought was missing from this movie in a different post. For now I want to focus on the exclusive sneak peak that was presented to ticket holders at California Adventure. Entering the queue for this attraction I noticed that this was going to be special.
Entering the Theater we were treated to artwork from the movie including story boards and character models.
We also got to see the new villain Screen Slaver, as well as other new characters like Evelyn.
The new Supers Screech, He-Lectrix, Reflux, Brick, Krushauer, and Voyd.
This seems like an early version of Voyd fighting Elastigirl. She seems darker than previously pictured.
A Raccoon that Jack Jack fights early in the movie. It is my favorite part of the entire movie.
Warning! Spoilers Ahead: Photography and video recording was not allowed during the screening. The sneak peak starts with Samuel L Jackson talking about the long wait for the movie and introducing us to what we are going to see, which is the beginning of the movie. He welcomes and thanks everyone for coming to see the sneak peak and to have fun at California Adventure. The movie opens with Tony, Violet's boyfriend, describing what he saw and his memory being wiped. The title appears and the incredibles fight The Underminer. Unfortunately he escapes and, with the help of Frozone, The Incredibles manage to stop the vehicle from crashing into the capital building. A new character, named Winston, sees this and orders his driver to follow the supers. The authorities arrest the Incredibles and Frozone runs. The driver confronts Frozone and asks him if he wants to change the law regarding supers being illegal and the sneak peek ends.
The great part of the sneak peek was the special effects. The side screens showed footage of The Underminer digging and Frozone using his powers. Smoke shot out at the front of the theater at certain points and the environment made you feel like you were more into the movie. All it needed was for the seats to move and more effects to affect the audience and it would have been fantastic. Before and after the screening, the characters would pop in and out from the side screens. Here is Jack Jack making an appearance. All in all, it was a fun and interesting experience to get to see some nice artwork and the opening minutes of a movie that, at the time, was not yet released. I am excited to see more sneak peeks of Pixar movies in the future.
